BIOGRAPHY

 

Mateusz Krzyżowski - Ambassador of Culture of Tychy city. The first Pole in history to win the First Prize at the Ignacy J. Paderewski International Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz (2022). Winner of the Best Performance of W.A. Mozart's Piano Concerto and numerous non-regulatory prizes, including recitals and concerts with orchestras in prestigious concert halls worldwide.

 

He began his education at the Feliks Rybicki Music School in his hometown of Tychy, under the guidance of Bożena Furmańska. He continued his studies at the Karol Szymanowski Music School in Katowice with Lubow Nawrocka and Sebastian Nawrocki. He graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied with Professor Joanna Ławrynowicz-Just.

 

Krzyżowski's interpretations are based on the composer's intentions, filtered through his own sensitivity, creating unique, one-time musical expressions in each performance to provide listeners with unparalleled experiences.

 

Over the past years, he has recorded chamber music, released on three albums: Peine et Plaisir (Opus Series), Interwar Retrospections, and The Most Beautiful Songs (Sarton Records). His recent competition achievements include:

🥇1st prize at the 2023 Warsaw Piano Grand Prix International Competition, qualifying for the Dubai 2024 main competition.

🥇1st prize at the 2022 Ignacy J. Paderewski International Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz, along with awards for the best Mozart concerto performance and for the best Polish participant.

🥇1st prize at the XII Arthur Rubinstein Memorial Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz, with special awards for the best performance of Karol Szymanowski’s work, and best concerto performance.

 

🎖️Finalist of the 2021 Chopin International Piano Competition.

 

He has performed in numerous prestigious venues including the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the Silesian Philharmonic, the Podkarpacka Philharmonic, and the Krakow Philharmonic, as well as internationally in the USA, France, the UAE, Germany, Japan, and more.

 

He is a scholarship recipient of the "Młoda Polska" program, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the Jerzy Semkow Foundation, the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship, and the National Fund for Children.

 

Numerous special awards and recital engagements globally, contributing to his growing recognition as one of Poland's leading young pianists.

Currently, he serves as an assistant in the Piano Department at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, dedicating himself to his professional passion for educating students.
